SKIPPER IS NOW PENDING ADOPTION!

PLEASE NOTE – Fosters with our rescue have 2 weeks to decide if they wish to “foster fail” and adopt the pup in their care.

Say hello to Skipper!  Skipper is a 4 year old, 35 lb., neutered, mixed breed boy who came to us heartworm positive & blind in one eye (and limited vision in the other).  He’s good as new after his heartworm treatment and now is ready to find his furever home!

Are you looking for a companion dog who doesn’t want to be in your personal space 24/7? Skipper would be the perfect dog for you! He can’t see much but doesn’t let that stop him from living his life to the fullest. He’s a dog who just wants to be hanging around with his people all the time. He’ll happily go on walks and car rides with you and just as happily hang around the house or yard as long as he’s with you. Once he learns the layout of a house he has no problem navigating it, and has learned some mobility commands (step up and step down) to help with moving around in new places.

He follows his foster sibling, a little Chihuahua mix, around the house and on walks, so he would probably like to live with a patient dog the same size or smaller who will show him the ropes & help him settle into a home. He loves kids but might not be the best choice for very young ones only because he could knock someone little over easily without knowing they’re there. He’s been living with two cats and doesn’t bother them at all, and has been introduced to reptiles as well.

Don’t be scared of Skipper’s blindness if you’re considering adopting! He’s absolutely one of the nicest dogs ever and will be such a great addition to any family looking for a new friend.
