Meet Scion! Scion is a stunning 3-year-old Parson Russell Terrier mix. She came to us in partnership with a local shelter. Sadly, she was neglected prior to coming to our rescue. Over the past month, this wonderful dog has bloomed right before our eyes! She has quite a sassy personality and will keep you on your toes! With all that sass, she makes up for it by being a certified cuddler. She loves to cuddle with her people and will also lick your tears away if you’re sad. She seems to be very in-tune with human emotions, as most dogs. Her ideal family will be active. Very active. A fenced-in property is preferred. If she does not receive enough exercise, she may pick up old habits…like nibbling on a pair of shoes. At her prior home where she was seized by animal control…she was not treated very well. She is learning how to be a dog for the first time. We are working through house training. She is not 100% yet so her new family will need to crate her when she is left alone. She is a work-in-progress but truly makes up for the extra effort by giving you lots of snuggles!
Scion is currently being fostered on a family farm where she gets along marvelously with other 4-legged friends of all kinds! Dogs, cats, goats, horses, etc. but she can be a little dog selective when out in the world. At this farm, she follows her foster mom and “little sister” to feed the horses with her tail wagging with pride. She loves car rides and will fall asleep in your lap if you sing to her.
While she does wonderfully with the child in her foster home, she does tend to jump up when excited so a home with no children under 8 is preferred. She’s had a rough start and we are committed to providing her with the life she is long overdue for. She is fully vetted, microchipped, Heartworm negative and current on vaccines.
