If you are looking for a fun, loving, cute, food loving pooch, then look no further than Roscoe! He is personality plus with an adorable little snaggle tooth too!

Roscoe is a 12 year old, 16 lb., black & white, male, Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative plus recently had bloodwork and a full dental cleaning. This boy is super sweet and loves to be near you. He is not fond of getting on furniture but loves a snuggly doggie bed. Roscoe came into rescue due to no fault of his own. Turns out his shedding didn’t fit his owners new lifestyle, sadly. He is reported to do well with children and we think he would be okay with cats that didn’t run from him. Roscoe will bark at the cat in his foster home but does not seem to have a high prey drive. He gets well with other small dogs very well.

With all these great attributes, you might wonder what the cons are to Roscoe…well, he is very flatulent…the boy is quite musical with his toots. He also does shed…or rather sprinkle his “glitter” around the house…not a lot, but moderate. Lastly, on a serious note, he does have a few health concerns. Roscoe seems to have COPD, or canine asthma. He is well maintained on a once a day medication at the moment but may require additional medication if he has a respiratory flare up. When he gets excited, he wheezes & coughs but usually recovers within a few minutes of calming down. Roscoe also had a heart condition called aortic stenosis. This is a condition that is not treated with medication. He had a full cardiac examination, they stopped one of his medications and he is not on a healthier diet. Hopefully, this will enable Roscoe to have many more years of happiness. Roscoe will need to have follow up with a cardiologist in December for a heart ultrasound.
