REMI IS NOW PENDING ADOPTION
PLEASE NOTE: Fosters have 14 days to decide if they wish to “foster fail” and adopt their foster dog.
Welcoming Remi to rescue! This Corgi (possibly a mix) is 1 year old. As you can see, he’s quite photogenic and his smile can be felt even through the photo! To help prospective adopters, here is a quick backstory to provide context and why he’s with us.
The family’s daughter got Remi as a puppy, at which time she lived away from home. Due to life circumstances, she moved back home and brought Remi. While the family members loved the new four-legged family addition, Remi quickly attached himself to the daughter’s mom / his “grandmom” at his “new” home. The parents own 3 Vizslas. Remi became jealous and got into a fight with the oldest dog in the house. This did not resolve and additional incidents took place. In the midst of the dogs getting into it, Remi reportedly started peeing in the house. (We can assume it’s behavioral looking from the outside; however, we will evaluate to make sure it’s not a health indicator.) Amid everything, the daughter’s father is terminally ill. Based on everything we’ve shared, the mother reached out with her daughter’s blessing asking us to find an adopter and new family for Remi ASAP.

Remi is a happy, friendly dog who loves attention. Based on what we’ve learned so far, we are seeking a home with no young children due to resource guarding.Prior to moving with the parents, we’re told Remi was fine around other dogs. Time will be indicative but this dog truly needs a decompression period. Behavior around cats is unknown.

He is current on vaccinations and will be neutered, microchipped, and started on flea, tick and Heartworm preventatives. We know Remi has some phenomenal personality traits that we’d love to showcase. We look forward to feedback from the foster.
