Welcoming Ragnar to rescue, who just turned 1 year old. He weighs 50 lbs. Ragnar is a Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle mix, commonly referred to as a Bernedoodle. He tested Heartworm negative. No history of injuries and not on any medications outside of monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

๐Ÿ• Dogs? yes
๐Ÿฑ Cats? unknown, TBD
๐Ÿ„ Other animals? not sure
๐Ÿ’ฉ House trained? yes
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Crate trained? yes
โšก Energy level: VERY HIGH
๐Ÿš— Travel well? yes

๐Ÿงธ Favorite toy/activity: chewing and running. He loves going for walks and will frequently “hop” instead of walk or run.

๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ Leash trained? in progress, needs continued practice for success

๐Ÿฅ… Fence Required? Yes, for his safety, as he likes to go on adventures. He should be double-leashed in the beginning as he gets to know his new family

โ€œHe is a super happy and energetic dog. He doesn’t always realize that he’s not a 10-pound dog and wants to lay on his back on your lap and get all the pets and belly rubs. He is a chewer, so the new parent should have LOTS of chew toys handy at all times.โ€
He needs an outlet to exert his energy and keep his mind stimulated.

Ragnar is great with getting his hair cut/trimmed. (His former family had a lot of fun trying new hairstyles on him and he reportedly loved it.) The new owner should research grooming maintenance for this breed mix to determine if this is financially sustainable.
