Say hello to Miguel! This handsome boy came to us in partnership with a local shelter. He is a 3-year-old, 15 lb., Papillon mix who is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. He will be neutered prior to adoption. Miguel is just getting acclimated to his new foster home and with everything in his life being so new & different. He’s dog & cat friendly and really likes dog beds! He is very active & high energy but an absolute delight. He LOVES to be by your side so he would do best in a home where he is not left alone much.
Unfortunately, Miguel has been diagnosed with Megaesophagus (ME) which is a condition in which the esophagus loses the ability to contract and move food down into the stomach. Subsequently the esophagus becomes dilated and any food or water that is consumed will simply remain within the esophagus until it is passively regurgitated. He is receiving treatment plus he is using a Bailey Chair which is essentially, a doggie high chair. This keeps him in a position where he is able to digest his food and only need to remain in it while he is eating. Miguel is looking for that special home where he can get the love & affection he so desperately craves!
