Welcome Maria! Maria is an approx.  5 year old, female Black Lab who spent the first part of her life as a breeder dog in a puppy mill before coming to our rescue. When she arrived, Maria had never lived in a home before. Every day things like stairs, vacuums, and car rides were new to her.

Since then, she has amazed us with how much she has learned in such a short time. Maria has mastered stairs, rings bells on the door to go potty outside, and is settling beautifully into family life. She gets along wonderfully with her foster sister, Kelly Belly. She respects her sister’s food bowl, is gentle around small children and even knows to go lay down while her humans eat dinner. She learned quickly how many good sniffs a walk on the leash can bring and is doing great on leash.

One of our favorite things about Maria is watching her discover the comforts she never had before. She loves to seek out the softest spot in the house to lay down and loves curling up next to her foster parents, soaking up the love, safety, and affection she deserves. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her shots.
