Sweet Ruby came to us known as “Mama Runt” and her foster thought she deserved a name true to her character, she truly is a gem! After becoming a mom while she was still a baby herself, Ruby is looking for her happily ever after!
Ruby is a 15 month old female Great Pyrenees mix. Even though she’s currently only 50 lbs. (small stature and needs to gain a bit of weight), she definitely has some qualities of the breed! She’s very sweet and gentle, and protective of those who care for her. She is currently being fostered with several other dogs ranging in size from 8 to 65 lbs. and cats, she’s friendly with all! Ruby is house broken, and crate trained. Ruby is current on shots and will be spayed & microchipped prior to adoption.
Ruby doesn’t mind car rides, although they do make her a bit nervous. Leash walking is becoming a preferred activity, she hadn’t experienced that before! But now she enjoys her daily adventures sniffing and taking in her environment. Ruby is a relatively low energy dog, she hasn’t shown much interest in playing fetch or zooming around the yard. She does, however, love to be outside sunbathing and exploring, so we’d prefer her forever home have a decent sized fenced yard for her. We think Ruby would do well with dog savvy kids.
Ruby was Lyme postive on intake to Renee’s Rescues, and is being treated. She is not symptomatic, but could possibly test Lymes positive in the future. Regular well visits with her vet and the typical monthly preventatives will keep her healthy!
