Meet Lee Cowboy! Just like his name expresses, this hearty fella has a BIG personality! Lee came to us as a shelter transfer through our partnership with CCAS of Maryland. Lee Cowboy is just 12-months-old but already tilts the scale at over 65-lbs. A big, goofy teddy bear, Lee has no idea how big he is and will absolutely try to sit in your lap! Lee is a Coonhound. He has strong prey drive and will absolutely follow his nose and head on a journey full of enthusiasm and steam to nowhere. As a result, his adopter must have a fenced-in yard. He’s just too big and he has tons of energy. Hounds in general are very vocal and Lee is no exception. He loves to talk and talk. This may be burdensome for nearby neighbors if you live in very close proximity to other homes.

His dream family would have lots of land where he could roam and live his best life trotting through the smell of fresh air and grass under his paws.

He is a very special boy. We’ve all fallen for him! He’s certainly a rescue favorite with the volunteers and veterinary staff. Lee is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and started on monthly flea/tick and Heartworm preventative meds.

Because he is very strong and still full of puppy-like behavior, we are seeking a home with no small animals, including cats, and no young children. Please submit a pre-adoption app if you’d like to meet him and we will be in touch!
