Hawaiian Rolls (called Carlos by his foster family) is a 2 year old, 11 lb., male Bichon mix who came to us as part of Project Chesapeake, arriving from a puppy mill. He is current on shots, neutered & microchipped.
Carlos is a sweet and spirited pup who’s been adjusting wonderfully to his foster home. He absolutely adores playing with other dogs and fits in seamlessly with pups of all shapes and sizes. Whether he’s romping around the large yard or enjoying the company of his foster siblings, Carlos is loving his newfound freedom and the chance to explore.
While he still shares a special bond with his brother, Carlos has also formed a close friendship with his big foster brother, a Standard Poodle. He’s even become smitten with a Bichon who often visits his foster mom’s home. His love for canine companionship shines through, making him an ideal addition to a multi-dog household.
Since arriving at his foster home, Carlos has made great progress. He’s started taking treats from his foster family’s hands and will happily lounge on the couch alongside the other dogs—even with humans nearby! However, Carlos still likes to keep his distance, preferring to observe the action from a safe spot.
Carlos is working on his potty habits and does well when he has quick access to a yard, as he’ll happily go outside. However, he’s still marking inside the house, so he’ll need a patient adopter willing to help him learn and improve in this area.
While he’s hesitant about being picked up or petted, Carlos doesn’t show fear when held—he’s just a little unsure about human touch for now. With patience, understanding, and a gentle approach, Carlos has the potential to continue building trust and confidence.
Both Bambi & Carlos require a fully fenced, secure yard.
Carlos would thrive in a home with another dog (or dogs)—ideally alongside his brother—and with a family experienced in giving dogs the space and time they need to feel secure.
