Say hi to Coco! Coco came to Renee’s Rescues as part of Project Chesapeake in 2025 and has been slowly learning how to live life as a free dog. She is estimated to be 6 years old and weighs about 16 pounds. She is a shy gal who is taking life one day at a time and is looking for a forever family who will do the same.

Potential adopters should be aware: Coco is a project dog who still needs a lot of patience and work. Her ideal home would be quiet and with adults only, and with another confident dog who would be her friend. She is afraid of men, so would need a home either with only women or a man who won’t push her as she adjusts to being around them. Ideally, she would be placed with someone with dog behavior experience who will continue to work with her as she learns how to be a dog. She has a big brain in her head and is willing to learn, she just needs patience and consistency.

Coco is trained to use pee pads and to go potty outside, but does have occasional accidents in the house when she gets spooked. She enjoys going for short walks with her doggy friends and playing with squeaky toys. Her favorite treats include chicken nuggets, greenies, and homemade peanut butter/pumpkin pupsicles.

She is spayed, up-to-date on her shots, microchipped, and on heartworm preventative.
