Say hello to Bruno Mars!
Bruno is a 1-year-old French Bulldog mix that was seized due to a heart-wrenching cruelty case and subsequent prosecution. He spent one month in a shelter and then came to us in partnership with another org, Bullies 2 The Rescue. Bruno is about 12.5-lbs. When he arrived to the shelter at the time of seizure, he was a mere 8 lbs.
He has since been treated by our medical team. Bruno has seizures and must be on phenobarbital for the rest of his life. He is one of the most “broken” dogs that we’ve seen come through but other than seizure meds, he is healthy and ready for his forever home.
As a result of his trauma, Bruno does exhibit food aggression. He must be fed in a quiet room where he does not fear someone will take away his resources/meals.
We will not set him up for failure and want to be transparent with any interested applicants so they are prepared for this journey. His rehabilitation will not be overnight. Bruno has brief spurts of joy where he will wag his tail.
He is currently in a foster environment where he is spoiled beyond monetary measure. His spirit needs time to rebuild.
To discuss Bruno, and learn more about him including a possible meet, please email his advocate, firstname.lastname@example.org or submit a pre-adoption app on our website. No families with young children, please.
