Project Chesapeake is a rescue of 23 adult, former puppy mill dogs, saved in conjunction with one of our local shelter partners. Prior to their arrival, these pups had never lived indoors, never had a family of their own and have never received love & affection. Now, they are safely in foster homes learning what being a family member is like. They arrived is various stages of distress, despair & fear. As they decompress & become acclimated to their newfound freedom, they will be ready to find their forever homes. All are requiring a fully fenced yard given that they cannot be leash walked yet.
Meet Blake! Blake is an 18 month old, 13 lb., mixed breed who is to date on shots and neutered. He enjoys playing with his toys and other dogs. He’s learning leash walking and house training but is already great in his crate – sleeps all night! Blake eats well but is still very scared. Kids should be okay as long as they are dog since he is easily afraid and slow to warm up. Blake is just learning to trust humans. He needs a fenced yard and humans with lots of patience and would love another dog to help him overcome his fears!
