Because the former owner’s house needed to be prepared for sale, Bentley and Mia were welcomed in fairly quickly. We loved them immediately!
At 14 years old and a bonded pair, chances were slim at adoption prospects. We decided the best thing to do was keep them under the rescue – the Piper Hospice Program. This was to ensure both dogs stayed together and all medical would be covered.
From April to early May, Bentley and his sister loved nothing more than laying outside under the sun. They loved the new humans who cared for them, brushed them, fed them and made sure they always felt safe.
On 5/10/23, Mia let her hospice family know she was tired and ready to go to The Rainbow Bridge. Mia was surrounded by many volunteers that fell in love with her in that brief period. She is deeply loved and we will never forget her.
As of August 2023, Bentley continues to wear a smile everywhere he goes. He absolutely loves belly rubs and very recently enjoyed a relaxing day at the beach!
