PLEASE NOTE: Fosters have 14 days to decide if they wish to “foster fail” and adopt their foster dog.

Project Chesapeake is a rescue of 23 adult,  former puppy mill dogs, saved in conjunction with one of our local shelter partners.  Prior to their arrival, these pups had never lived indoors, never had a family of their own and have never received love & affection.  Now, they are safely in foster homes learning what being a family member is like.  They arrived is various stages of distress, despair & fear.  As they decompress & become acclimated to their newfound freedom, they will be ready to find their forever homes. All are requiring a fully fenced yard given that they cannot be leash walked.

Meet Thurma! Thurma is a 6 year old, 13 lb., Shih Tzu mix (maybe Lhasa Apso). She’s getting acclimated to her new surroundings, is up to date on shots and will be spayed & microchipped prior to adoption. More info to come as we get to know this little lady!
