PLEASE NOTE: Fosters have 14 days to decide if they wish to “foster fail” and adopt their foster dog.

Meet our lovely 7-year-old English Cream Retriever looking for her forever home! 🐾 After a life solely used for breeding, this sweet and affectionate girl is now rescued, and we are making up for lost time!

Lovey lived her entire life on an Amish farm. She was used for breeding purposes and had many litters while there. At 7 years, she was no longer able to produce like she once could. The breeder allowed us to come pick her up.

She’s now acclimating with her foster family and got her first bath earlier today! She’s not too sure what to think of it but did enjoy the scrubbing!

Lovey had her first night sleeping inside a home!  She’s in a foster setting with another senior dog similar in size. We don’t know how she would do with cats but we will update her profile once she’s acclimated. A very high energy dog in the house may be too much for our retired lady.

With a low-to-moderate energy level, she’s shown us so far that she enjoys calmly-paced, leisurely walks. She’s not a candidate for long hiking trips. With her age being 7, she does have some age-appropriate arthritis which is to be expected.

She would thrive in a home where daily strolls are part of her routine. She also really enjoys human affection and will lean in! If you have small children who enjoy laying on top of their dog or pulling on their ears, this senior would prefer a setting where that does not happen. If you are looking for a family member that will enjoy movie night as she naps or lays on the couch, she is your gal!

While she may not be house trained or crate trained yet, she is eager to learn and adapt to her new environment with patience and guidance. This beautiful Retriever has so much love to give and is looking for a family who can provide her with the care and attention she deserves in her golden years.

Lovey is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and will be spayed prior to adoption. We look forward to continuing to get to know her. Stay tuned!
