PLEASE NOTE: Fosters have 14 days to decide if they wish to “foster fail” and adopt their foster dog.

Project Chesapeake is a rescue of 23 adult,  former puppy mill dogs, saved in conjunction with one of our local shelter partners.  Prior to their arrival, these pups had never lived indoors, never had a family of their own and have never received love & affection.  Now, they are safely in foster homes learning what being a family member is like.  They arrived is various stages of distress, despair & fear.  As they decompress & become acclimated to their newfound freedom, they will be ready to find their forever homes. All are requiring a fully fenced yard given that they cannot be leash walked.

Say hello to Laurel! Laurel is a cute, 18 month old, 11 1/2 lb., male, Shih Tzu mix who is a bundle of energy. He is very loving & plays well with other dogs. In fact, Laurel needs a home with another dog so he can thrive. He is pee pad trained and currently working with his foster on house training and leash training.
