HOLLY IS NOW PENDING ADOPTION!
PLEASE NOTE: Fosters have 14 days to decide if they wish to “foster fail” and adopt their foster dog.
All puppies are cute right, but a Golden Retriever!? 🥰 This fluffy little 10 week old nugget is adorable for sure, but she’s not your average pup. Holly comes to Renee’s Rescues as an Amish breeder surrender, the runt of the litter with a birth defect that affects her right front leg. Presumably a result of cramped space in the womb, Holly’s right front foot curves inward, causing her to walk on the “top” of her foot instead of her tiny toe beans. This has resulted in some callus development, but doesn’t stop this tough little cookie from living her best life! She runs and plays with other pups with fervor! She’s conquered going up and down stairs, and even uses her right paw to play with toys. She loves the company of other dogs and humans alike, but has not been exposed to cats. All of your standard puppy behaviors like house breaking, nipping humans, chewing on things she shouldn’t, etc. are a work in progress. Potential adopters should be prepared to spend as much time on training as you will playing and snuggling.
The recommendation of the orthopedic surgeon we’ve consulted is to let her grow, and to have subsequent visits to monitor her development. It is possible that surgery or a prosthetic device would eventually help her continue to thrive. In the spirit of full disclosure, Holly will require more of a financial commitment than would be expected for typical dog ownership.
Holly is current on age appropriate vaccinations and will be spayed & microchipped.
