Meet Daisy & Dakota: A Bonded Pair of Senior Sweethearts!
Daisy and Dakota are an adorable duo looking for their forever home together! These 11-year-old littermates, weighing in at 10 pounds each, have spent their whole lives side by side—and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Though their previous owner surrendered them, they haven’t let that dampen their spirits.
Daisy and Dakota are the perfect mix of affectionate and independent. They love to follow their foster mom around the house, keeping an eye on everything, but they also enjoy their cozy nap spots. Each evening they cuddle on the couch with their foster mom, dog sibling, and the resident cats.
· Daisy adores her little stuffed toys—she often carries them around, piles them up to sleep with, and even wants to bring them on walks!
· Dakota is the more curious of the two, always making his rounds to check on everyone and be where the action is.
Daisy and Dakota are well-behaved, eager to please, and know “sit” and “come”. They alert when they need to go outside and have very few accidents on a regular schedule. They love their daily walks, happily covering 1-2 miles a day, and walk beautifully on leashes—no fenced yard required. While they may bark to announce visitors or outside sounds, they settle quickly.
Due to their petite size, they need a little help getting onto furniture but are perfectly content snuggling on their dog bed. At night and when their foster mom isn’t home, they relax in a gated area.
Like many senior dogs, Daisy and Dakota take daily medication to keep them feeling their best. Both are on arthritis meds; Daisy takes medication for hyperthyroidism, and Dakota for Cushing’s disease. Their medications are manageable and not cost-prohibitive, allowing them to remain active and happy.
