Welcome Bernie! Bernie is a 10-year-old mixed-breed, male dog whose world changed when his previous owner went into Assisted Living. He is neutered and current on vaccines. While we are still getting to know him, we already have lots of great things to share!

Bernie is a low-energy guy who loves to relax. He’s perfectly content lying by his foster mom’s desk while she works and lets us know when he wants to go outside – one of his favorite places to be! He enjoys leisurely walks and gets along great with the resident dog, strolling side-by-side like old pals.

He adores his foster family – mom, dad, and sister – and we’ve taught him the “senior steps” so he can lay next to us for extra love and ear rubs (his favorite!) He doesn’t shed much at the moment, though that may change seasonally.

Bernie is crate-trained and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, though he’d likely be just as happy snoozing wherever you let him. He rides well in the car, isn’t a fan of thunder (who is?), and is a happy, affectionate boy.

He’s a good eater, though slightly picky with treats, and may need to shed a few pounds—he’s about 30 lbs now. We’re still working on house training and will be visiting the vet and groomer soon, so stay tuned!

Bernie is a joyful, loving pup who soaks up every bit of affection you offer. If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow companion, Bernie just might be your guy.
